Sonos: Wireless, Multi speaker system with a Kick!

Unpacking the Sonos Play speakers was as delightful as the day I unwrapped my first Macbook.  Beautifully wrapped and manufactured, I had high expectations which was happily blasted down the street to the beat of Fifth Harmony - Worth It ft. Kid Ink

The app that accompanies the sonos speakers is surprisingly easy for such a complex system.  Its functionality is easy enough for grandma to operate, and in-depth enough for any tech nerd to be happily engrossed with. (compatible to iOS, Apple Watch, Android, Android Wear, Windows and OS X)
Sonos creates an ecosystem with your wireless network at home which controls multiple speakers from your smartphone or tablet. The functionality is beautifully integrated, allowing you to play different songs in multiple rooms at the same time all controlled from one panel.

You can pause a song on one speaker (office) and up the volume of another (tv-room) speaker, or you can group them together to listen to the football score over all rooms, then break them apart and listen to your favorite podcast in the office again, while maintaining individual volume, choice of music and control on one platform.

For the tech nerds - Playing music off my iphone library, while controlling and skipping songs on my android tablet (which doesn’t have any music on it) on one speaker,  while listening to the radio on another, was delightful to say the least.

The options for music is endless. The app allows you to play music from any devices that is linked to the ecosystem. It is also connected to your wireless network,  automatically allowing you a massive scope of music, (Apple Music, Spotify, Napster, Deezer, Rdio, SoundCloud to name a few), news, sport, talk, location and trending broadcasts.
It doesn't matter where you place the speaker.  It will calibrate itself, using Trueplay, a built-in dynamic tuning system, based on the speakers placement in the room, room shape and objects in the room to ensure a clear and rich sound.

Sonos has been around longer than any multiroom wireless speaker system which is instantly visible in their impressive speaker selection, quality both in manufacturing and sound.  Ranging from the all-in-one Zone players, Play:1, Play:3 and Play:5 they also have a Sonos Sub and Playbar for use with a TV.

Testing the Pay:1 which is the smallest speaker in the family, I could hear it clearly three rooms away and it wasn’t even on full volume...yet. The Play:1 measures as accurately, if not better, than most high-end Bluetooth speakers in its class, that costs several times as much.
On the Play:5 Digitaltrends.com says it best  “The Play:5 isn't just Sonos' best speaker yet, it is also another reminder of why Sonos absolutely rules the wireless multi-room speaker market.” On just under half the Play:5 could be heard clearly two stories up,  I had to turned down before the neighbours complain.
